EA Sports Confirms Fight Night Is Returning After 15 Years
EA Sports confirms Fight Night's return after 15 years, but the next boxing game still has no announced title, release date or platforms.
EA Sports has officially confirmed the return of its Fight Night boxing series, ending a 15-year absence since Fight Night Champion launched in 2011. The publisher announced the revival on October 20, 2026, through a short social media teaser, giving longtime fans their first official confirmation that the franchise is making a comeback.
The announcement did not reveal a game title, developer, release window or supported platforms. EA also shared no gameplay footage, leaving the direction of the new boxing game unknown.

EA revealed the news through a newly launched Fight Night account on X. Its first post featured an image of boxing gloves hanging above an empty ring, accompanied by the tagline "The Fight Is Never Over."
"To everyone who stayed in our corner: Fight Night is coming back," the publisher wrote.
The announcement marks the franchise's first confirmed return since its last mainline release. However, EA has not explained whether the project will continue the existing series with another numbered installment or introduce a new direction.
There are also no confirmed details about licensed boxers, gameplay mechanics or modes. The teaser establishes the franchise's return rather than providing a full reveal of the next game.
Fight Night Champion remains the series' last game

The Fight Night franchise began in 2004 and became one of EA Sports' established boxing series. Across five main installments, it developed a reputation for realistic boxing mechanics, licensed fighters and a combat system built around timing, movement and punching accuracy.
The last entry, Fight Night Champion, launched in March 2011 for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. It introduced Champion Mode, a cinematic story campaign following fictional boxer Andre Bishop as he attempted to rebuild his career while dealing with corruption and personal struggles.
The game also featured more than 50 licensed boxers, including Muhammad Ali, Mike Tyson and Manny Pacquiao. Its Full Spectrum Punch Control system offered players greater control over their punches, while stamina management and realistic damage remained important parts of combat.
Despite the series' positive reception, EA did not release another Fight Night installment after 2011.
Fight Night returns after EA's long focus on UFC
Following Fight Night Champion, EA Sports shifted much of its combat sports development toward mixed martial arts. The publisher launched its first EA Sports UFC game in 2014 and continued expanding that franchise while its boxing series remained dormant.
Interest in another Fight Night game continued throughout the years. Fans repeatedly called for a revival, while boxing promoter Eddie Hearn revealed in 2020 that he had pitched an idea for a new game to EA Sports.
The newly confirmed comeback brings boxing back into EA's plans after years of focusing on UFC. However, the publisher has not said whether the two franchises will share technology, gameplay systems or development resources.
EA has also not confirmed whether the next Fight Night will feature a story campaign similar to Champion Mode or focus on traditional boxing competition. For now, the October 20 teaser is the only official announcement of the revival. Further details about the game's development, roster and release plans have yet to be revealed.
