Speed Hits 25+ Deaths Trying to Conquer Minecraft Hardcore Bosses With Kai Cenat

IShowSpeed and Kai Cenat turned Minecraft Hardcore into a brutal six-day battle against four major enemies. By Day 5, Speed had died 27 times and Kai 15, leaving the pair with 42 deaths while they were still trying to finish the challenge.
Their goal was to beat the Warden, Elder Guardian, Wither, and Ender Dragon in one Hardcore run within 10 days. Every death meant starting over under their challenge rules. One bad decision could erase hours of collecting gear, exploring, and preparing for the next fight.
Speed lost an 11-hour attempt after shooting a Zombified Piglin and drawing the surrounding mob onto himself. A Totem of Undying gave him another chance, but the attack still ended the run. Chat also convinced him to eat a pufferfish during another attempt.
Kai made an expensive mistake of his own when a Vex killed him while a Totem of Undying sat unused in his inventory. Speed's reaction became one of the stream's loudest moments, but the real cost was another complete reset after hours of work.
By Day 5, Speed's 27 deaths had become a major part of the marathon. Kai was 15, and both were still rebuilding equipment and gathering supplies between attempts. Simply reaching the bosses without losing another world has become one of the hardest parts of the challenge.
The 2026 marathon was harder than their 2024 Hardcore run. That run ended after about 106 hours when they finally defeated the Ender Dragon. This time, the dragon was only one target alongside the Warden, Elder Guardian, and Wither.
Each enemy demanded a different approach, forcing Speed and Kai to prepare for several dangerous parts of Minecraft during the same run. They needed enough equipment and supplies to survive all four encounters without one mistake sending them back to the beginning.
Speed and Kai gave themselves 10 days to complete all four kills in one run. If that failed, their backup plan was to defeat the enemies across separate runs. The rule kept the main attempt difficult without leaving the marathon trapped in endless resets.
Speed and Kai broke through on August 12 after more than 120 hours of play. The Ender Dragon was the final target, and beating it completed the challenge that began on August 7. Their final death count remained at 42, with Speed on 27 and Kai on 15.
The successful run followed days of lost equipment, repeated rebuilds, and long stretches spent preparing again from scratch. It also gave them a second major Hardcore win together, this time with four targets standing between them and the finish instead of one.
Kai mentioned Elden Ring after the Minecraft marathon ended, putting another difficult game on the table for Speed. Nothing has been confirmed as their next joint challenge, but this run ended with all four targets beaten and no more deaths added after the Day 5 total reached 42.
