Mafia: The Old Country DLC Gives Sicily More to Do

Mafia: The Old Country gave players a beautiful version of Sicily, but its campaign rarely let them settle into it. Valle Dorata mostly worked as the road between story missions, leaving its villages, coastlines, and country routes feeling more like scenery than a place with its own life, despite the detail packed into every road and village.
The Man of Honor expansion arrives on August 14 with two new story chapters and a larger set of Free Ride activities. Enzo Favara's next job brings him closer to Ennio Salieri, while new contracts, challenges, weapons, and rewards aim to give players more reasons to stay in Sicily after the main story ends. For anyone who liked the setting more than its empty stretches, that is the real promise.
Set during the winter of 1905, the story picks up after Enzo has become a trusted soldier in the Torrisi family. Don Torrisi sends him and Cesare to help Salieri following his release from prison, where old debts and one dangerous opportunity quickly pull the group into another job with much more at stake.
Salieri is already respected, but he is still far from the powerful Lost Heaven crime boss seen in the first Mafia. Working beside him gives Hangar 13 room to show the ambition, pressure, and compromises that shaped his rise without turning the expansion into a story that forgets Enzo or treats him like a passenger.
The two chapters also bring fresh environments, vehicles, weapons, and Charms, although Hangar 13 has kept most mission details hidden. Their real value will come from how well they add to Enzo's story and whether the new settings feel like meaningful places rather than short backdrops for another tightly directed shootout.
Salieri becomes the main contact for new Free Ride missions from a warehouse in Porto Almaro. His Jobs include tracking down hidden loot, towing valuable vehicles, and transporting fragile stolen goods while enemies try to stop the delivery, giving the open map more varied work than the original challenge list ever offered.
A broader mission mix should make better use of Valle Dorata's roads and smaller settlements. The base game often rushed Enzo from one major scene to the next, while Free Ride offered only a limited reason to explore. Contracts built around travel, searching, and recovery could finally make the spaces between towns feel useful instead of decorative.
Harder combat encounters, stealth assassinations, car races, Wanted Posters, Stunt Jumps, hidden locations, and destructible sulfur trucks expand the activity list further. Dinari, outfits, horses, vehicles, guns, knives, and Charms give those jobs practical rewards, which is important in a mode that needs more than high scores to keep players returning.
Some of the new rewards are more playful than the grounded tools Enzo used through the main campaign. The Rimbalzu throwing knife can bounce into a second target, while a ten-round shotgun and a rifle with explosive ammunition give players louder ways to clear difficult contracts and combat challenges.
Free Ride has room for a looser style than the story's carefully staged fights. Strange perks and stronger weapons can make familiar spaces feel different on another visit, especially when players are chasing faster clears, harder objectives, or rewards tied to specific challenge types instead of following the same route again.
Man of Honor still requires the base game, and some of its content must be unlocked through play. Hangar 13 has not said how many new locations or repeatable missions are included, leaving the expansion's size as the biggest unknown before launch. Sicily already looks worth exploring, but August 14 will show how much there is to do once players leave the main road.
