How SwizzY became Fortnite's first back-to-back world champion
SwizzY and Pixie recovered from 163 points behind with three matches left, then survived a final-game push from Shxrk and t3eny to win in Antwerp by two points.
The 2026 FNCS Global Championship gave SwizzY a more challenging route to the trophy he had won a year earlier. Fortnite had returned to duos, Queasy and Merstach were no longer beside him, and his new partner Pixie had finished second to that championship trio in Lyon.
Antwerp also offered none of the early control SwizzY enjoyed in 2025. He and Pixie ended the first day fourth, then watched Malibuca and vic0 extend their lead on Sunday until the gap reached 163 points with three games left.
A 12-elimination win in Game 10 changed the shape of the final hour. Two matches later, SwizzY and Pixie finished on 525 points, Shxrk and t3eny on 523 and Malibuca and vic0 on 521. Four points separated the podium, and SwizzY became Fortnite's first back-to-back FNCS Global Champion.
Last year's closest rival became his teammate

This year's Global Championship started with a partnership that would have looked very different in 2025. Back then, Pixie was part of the trio chasing SwizzY, Queasy and Merstach for the title in Lyon.
SwizzY's team had built a huge lead on Saturday, winning three consecutive matches and finishing all six games inside the top five. They went into Sunday 185 points clear of second place.
Pixie, Vanyak3kk and MariusCOW spent the final day trying to close that gap. They made up 138 points and finished on 650, but SwizzY's trio held on with 697. A year later, SwizzY and Pixie were playing together.
A year later, SwizzY and Pixie were playing together. The move back to duos meant the old championship lineup could not simply run it back, and their first day in Antwerp looked nothing like SwizzY's start in Lyon.
Fourth place in the opener was followed by an early exit in Game 2. They recovered with seven eliminations and another top-five finish in Game 3, then added a second fourth place later in the day.
There were enough good Fortnite games to stay around the leaders, but no stretch that forced the rest of the lobby to chase them. Three top-five finishes kept them in the top four despite the Game 2 zero. Malibuca and vic0 ended Saturday in front. SwizzY and Pixie were fourth.
Sunday nearly took the title away

Malibuca and vic0 won the first game on Sunday. SwizzY and Pixie reached fifth, which would normally be useful, but it did little when the team already ahead of them had just taken the Victory Royale.
Game 8 ended without a point, and Game 9 added very little. The gap that had looked manageable after Saturday had grown to 163 points with only three games remaining.
Another early exit in Game 10 would have left almost no room for a comeback. Instead, SwizzY and Pixie stayed together deep into the match and kept finding eliminations as the lobby thinned out.
They reached the final circles with both players alive, continued taking fights and closed the game with 12 eliminations and their first Victory Royale of the weekend. Nearly a third of all their eliminations across the championship came from that one match.
Malibuca and vic0 were still ahead, but SwizzY and Pixie had finally put themselves close enough to apply pressure. They did not need another win in Game 11. Fourth place with four eliminations kept the comeback moving while Malibuca and vic0 went out without scoring. That cut the gap to 32 points with one match remaining.
Their best games kept reaching the end
What stood out was that SwizzY and Pixie never had the most eliminations among the leading duos. Shxrk and t3eny finished with six more, and Malibuca and vic0 also ended the weekend above them in kills.
Six top-five finishes gave SwizzY and Pixie 369 placement points, 26 more than Shxrk and t3eny. That was enough to cover the gap in eliminations. With fifth place already worth 44 points before any kills were added, repeatedly reaching the late game could do almost as much for a title run as collecting another Victory Royale.
Four finishes outside the top 20, including two scoreless matches, repeatedly forced them to recover. Another fourth or fifth place kept appearing before the damage became permanent.
Game 10 gave them their biggest haul of the weekend, but the repeated fourth- and fifth-place finishes were what kept the title within reach. Koyota and Yuma won twice in Antwerp and finished eighth.
Higgs and Curve also took two wins and ended tenth. SwizzY and Pixie got more from the matches they did not win, repeatedly staying alive long enough for placement to add up. By Game 12, that had given them one last chance to catch Malibuca and vic0.
Game 12 stayed open until the final players

Malibuca and vic0 began the last match ahead, but Shxrk and t3eny went after them. They pushed the leaders during Game 12, and more teams joined the fight. Malibuca and vic0 were eventually eliminated in 43rd without scoring. The duo that had controlled so much of the weekend was finished before the final stages had even started.
SwizzY and Pixie were still alive. Malibuca and vic0 going out early meant they no longer needed to chase a moving target at the top. Two eliminations and 12th place moved them past the former leaders and fixed their final total at 525.
Shxrk and t3eny were the only podium duo left. They had already built up nine eliminations, and when t3eny went down, Shxrk kept playing alone. Every placement he survived moved them closer while SwizzY and Pixie could do nothing except watch.
Shxrk made it to sixth, leaving him and t3eny on 523 points, just two short of the title. Fifth place would have been enough to move past SwizzY and Pixie, so after 12 matches the championship had come down to one more placement. Malibuca and vic0 finished third on 521. Four points separated all three podium teams.
SwizzY's second title looked nothing like the first
SwizzY's route through Antwerp looked very different from Lyon a year earlier. In 2025, his trio had built enough of a lead on Saturday that Sunday became about holding onto it. This time, he and Pixie spent most of the weekend trying to catch Malibuca and vic0, and with three games left they were still 163 points behind.
Game 10 gave them the opening they needed, but the earlier top-five finishes were just as important in keeping the title within reach. Even 12th place in the final match added enough points to put the pressure back on Shxrk, who had to keep surviving after SwizzY and Pixie were already out.
By the time Shxrk fell in sixth, SwizzY had defended his title with a new teammate, in a different format and after spending most of the weekend chasing rather than being chased.
