GTA 6 Leaker Threatens Take-Two With a 'Dead Man's Switch'
October 15, 2026·3 min read
Cyberleek claims a dead man's switch could release GTA 6 ending spoilers if the leaker is stopped, while abandoning an earlier full-build threat.
The person behind the recent alleged Grand Theft Auto 6 leaks is now threatening to release major story spoilers if Take-Two Interactive succeeds in identifying or stopping them. Cyberleek claims to have created a "dead man's switch" containing information about the game's ending, although there is no independent confirmation that such a system exists.
The new threat comes days after Cyberleek claimed to possess a complete playable build of GTA 6 and offered to release it if a cryptocurrency associated with the account reached a $30 million market capitalization. That target was not met, and the leaker now says the complete build will not be uploaded.
Cyberleek Claims to Have GTA 6's Ending

In a message published through Cyberleek's website, the leaker claimed to possess information about the ending of GTA 6. They said releasing it had been considered as a way to damage Take-Two, but argued that doing so would primarily spoil the experience for players.
Cyberleek instead claimed that story spoilers have been placed behind a "dead man's switch." According to the message, the material would remain private unless someone "removes" Cyberleek, language that appears to refer to the person or group being identified or stopped.
The claim has not been independently verified. Cyberleek also pointed to purported footage from late-game missions as evidence of access to the ending, but isolated clips do not establish possession of the complete story or prove that an automated release mechanism exists.
Full GTA 6 Build Threat Has Been Dropped
Cyberleek previously claimed to possess a build larger than 200GB containing the complete campaign through its ending and credits. The account threatened to upload it if the associated CYBERLEEK cryptocurrency reached a $30 million market cap.
That milestone was never reached. Cyberleek now says the build will not be released and that regular leaks are stopping "for now," substantially scaling back the earlier threat.
The account has also denied allegations that the cryptocurrency campaign amounted to a rug pull, describing the token as a donation rather than an investment. Those claims come from Cyberleek itself and do not independently establish how the token was promoted or whether its financial activity was represented accurately.
Take-Two Is Already Trying to Identify GTA 6 Leakers

Take-Two's efforts to investigate unauthorized GTA 6 material began before the latest threat. Court filings from August and September showed the publisher seeking DMCA subpoenas for information held by Microsoft and Discord that could help identify people connected to the leaks.
A court granted one of Take-Two's later requests for additional information from Discord, with details of the subpoena kept under seal. Neither Take-Two nor Rockstar has publicly confirmed that Cyberleek has been identified, and neither company has responded publicly to the new dead man's switch claim.
That makes Cyberleek's latest message a threat rather than evidence that story spoilers are guaranteed to appear. It does, however, directly connect the possibility of further leaks to Take-Two's ongoing attempts to identify those responsible.
GTA 6 Launches November 19
Rockstar currently plans to release Grand Theft Auto 6 on November 19, 2026, for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. With little more than a month remaining before launch, the usefulness of unreleased story material will decrease rapidly once players can experience the campaign themselves.
Until then, Cyberleek claims the ending will remain unpublished unless the supposed dead man's switch is triggered. Take-Two's investigation is continuing, while the existence and reliability of the threatened system remain unverified.
