Pokémon Winds and Waves Leak Claims to Show Maps and Character Designs
New alleged Pokémon Winds and Waves development material shows early regional maps, character designs, a resort area and a possible Grass-type Gym, while a model named ChampAllAnim has sparked Champion speculation.
A new batch of alleged Pokémon Winds and Pokémon Waves development material has appeared online, showing what are said to be early maps, character models, a resort area, a Grass-type Gym and a possible look at the games' Champion.
The files were shared by X user grubbinscrubbin and reportedly come from an early beta build. The Pokémon Company, Nintendo and Game Freak have not confirmed the material, so the images should be treated as unfinished development content rather than a reliable look at what will appear in the final game.
Leaked map pieces offer an early look at the new region

Several of the leaked images appear to show different sections of the regional map. X user TM02 later combined those pieces into a larger reconstruction, giving a clearer idea of how the islands may have connected in the version of the game represented by the leak.
The reconstructed image should not be mistaken for an official complete map. It has been assembled from separate beta materials and could reflect a layout that has since been altered.
That said, the island-heavy geography is broadly consistent with what The Pokémon Company has already shown publicly. Pokémon Winds and Pokémon Waves take place in an open world built around windswept islands and a large ocean, with different ecosystems spread throughout the region.
Another leaked screenshot appears to show a developed resort-style area. Its name and role are not established by the material, but it provides a closer look at one of the more built-up locations being worked on during the beta.
Character models and a Grass-type Gym also appear in the beta

The same leak includes a collection of character models alongside an early version of what is described as a Grass-type Gym.
The Gym environment is visibly unfinished, with placeholder-looking elements and incomplete scenery making its alleged development status particularly clear. If the material is authentic, it suggests that a Grass-focused Gym was being built at the time this version of the game was created.
Game Freak has not officially announced the Gym lineup for Pokémon Winds and Pokémon Waves, so there is no confirmation that this location remains in the current build or will appear in the same form at release.
The leaked character models are similarly difficult to place without additional context. If genuine, they show designs that were present in development, but the material does not establish every character's final name, role or importance to the story.
A file called ChampAllAnim has sparked Champion speculation
The most notable character in the latest batch comes from a model reportedly stored under the file name "ChampAllAnim."
That name has led to speculation that the character could be the regional Champion, since "Champ" would be an obvious internal abbreviation for that role. The identification is still an inference rather than something the leaked material proves.
An internal development name can indicate what a model was being used for at one stage of production without guaranteeing that the role, design or naming convention survived into the finished game.
The Pokémon Company has not officially revealed the Champion, Elite Four or complete Gym structure for Pokémon Winds and Pokémon Waves. The confirmed information remains considerably narrower: both games are being developed by Game Freak exclusively for Nintendo Switch 2 and are scheduled for a simultaneous worldwide release in 2027.
Until Game Freak begins showing more of the region officially, the latest maps, character models and possible Champion remain an early and unconfirmed glimpse at content that could still change before launch.
