Diablo II: Resurrected Legacy of Terror Event Starts November 13
Blizzard's six-day 30th anniversary event spawns Diablo Clone every six hours and keeps the Cow Portal open as Ladder Season 16 begins.
Blizzard Entertainment will run Legacy of Terror, a six-day event for Diablo's 30th anniversary, in Diablo II: Resurrected from November 13 to November 19, 2026. The event starts with Ladder Season 16 and is open to both Ladder and Non-Ladder players.
Blizzard announced the event in a news post on November 7, 2026, promising “six days of spine-chilling threats and lucrative perks to launch your Season 16 Ladder experience.” It follows the studio's BlizzCon 2026 reveal that Diablo V is coming in spring 2029.
Diablo Clone spawns every six hours in Hell
The biggest change concerns Diablo Clone. On Hell difficulty, Blizzard says the boss “will be a guaranteed spawn once every six hours” during the event. It works like the current system, in which Diablo Clone replaces a Super Unique monster in Hell.
After players defeat Baal on Normal, Nightmare or Hell, every zone on that difficulty becomes a Terrorized Zone at the same time. Players who want to avoid this can turn it off in the Game Creation menu on the Character Select screen or in the Lobby, which Blizzard says leaves the rest of the event unchanged.
The Cow Portal stays open in the Rogue Encampment
Beating Baal on a difficulty also opens a special Cow Portal in the Rogue Encampment that stays active for the whole event, so no trip to Tristram is needed. Monsters slain at any difficulty have a rare chance to be reanimated as Hell Bovine Minions.
For all six days, players get 100% Magic Find and a 15% discount at every vendor. Blizzard says the discount includes Gamblers and applies at all difficulty levels.
Event times and the Season 16 schedule
Legacy of Terror runs from 5:00 p.m. PST on November 13 to 5:00 p.m. PST on November 19, 2026. That is 8:00 p.m. ET in the US and 1:00 a.m. GMT on November 14 in Europe, the same moment Ladder Season 16 opens.
According to Blizzard's Season 16 notes, Ladder Season 15 ends on Monday, November 9, at 11:00 a.m. PST, the day patch 3.4 starts rolling out. For Reign of the Warlock in Online Ladder and Offline, the patch reworks 18 unique items, the Isenhart's Armory set and the Eternity runeword, and from November 16 Online Expansion characters can no longer be converted to Reign of the Warlock.
At the time of writing, Blizzard's event post does not say whether Legacy of Terror also applies to offline play or to the Classic and Lord of Destruction modes, and it lists no anniversary rewards beyond these perks.
