Dead Space-Inspired Horror Game Hell of Fear: Mind Breach Arrives on PS5
Abyss Assembly's Dead Space-inspired sci-fi horror game Hell of Fear: Mind Breach has reached PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, with a free demo and haptic feedback.
Hell of Fear: Mind Breach, a sci-fi survival horror game inspired by Dead Space and System Shock, launched on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S on November 5, 2026. Developed by Abyss Assembly and published by GameDev.ist, the game combines first-person combat, exploration, and psychological horror inside an isolated research facility.
The game originally launched on PC in December 2025. Its console release gives PlayStation players a new horror experience built around limited resources, hostile alien creatures, and environmental puzzles.
Hell of Fear Sends Players Into an Infected Research Base
Players take control of Major Axel Vex, a veteran member of Extraterrestrial Incident Response. He is dispatched to Cengona Base, an underground research facility on a distant planet, after receiving a distress signal. What begins as a routine investigation quickly becomes a fight for survival.
The facility contains 26 distinct sectors filled with dangerous creatures, hidden areas, and clues about what happened to its personnel. Players must explore the complex while uncovering information through recovered logs, security footage, and environmental details.
A mysterious biological infection controls the hostile creatures roaming the base. As Vex investigates, he must confront threats that endanger both his physical survival and his sanity.
Combat, Stealth, and Resource Management Drive the Horror
Hell of Fear: Mind Breach shares Dead Space's claustrophobic sci-fi setting and infected enemies, but approaches survival horror from a first-person perspective.
Players must carefully manage supplies and decide when to fight or avoid enemies. Some creatures react to light and movement, making stealth another important option during exploration.
Environmental puzzles provide additional challenges throughout the facility. The game also uses sound to warn players about nearby dangers, while its dark corridors and confined spaces create tension between encounters.
PS5 Version Includes a Free Demo and Haptic Feedback
The console launch includes a free playable demo, allowing PS5 owners to try the game before purchasing it. Publisher GameDev.ist has also confirmed haptic feedback support for the PlayStation version.
Hell of Fear: Mind Breach is available digitally on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. The full game supports single-player gameplay and adjustable difficulty settings.
Players can find the full release and free demo through the official PlayStation Store page.
