EA Sports FC 27 Developers Hold Off on Major Gameplay Balance Changes
EA Sports is giving FC 27's launch gameplay more time to settle before making major balance changes. Bug fixes and work on Kickabout queue times will continue in the meantime.
EA Sports is holding off on major gameplay balance changes to EA Sports FC 27 while the development team gathers more data on how players are adapting to the game.
The team wants the launch gameplay to settle before making broader adjustments, rather than reacting immediately to early trends. Bug fixes, unintended behaviour and quality-of-life improvements will continue during that period.
EA wants more data before changing the gameplay balance

Early player behaviour can shift quickly as new mechanics are learned, tactics develop and stronger squads become more common. EA wants more time to see which trends persist before deciding whether the underlying gameplay needs wider changes.
EA had already outlined this approach before launch. In its September 3 Closed Beta Feedback Update, the company said its early Title Updates would avoid significant gameplay balance changes while players learned new mechanics, developed tactics and built their squads.
That means the first post-launch updates are not expected to substantially rebalance areas such as attacking, defending or other core systems simply because a particular style of play becomes popular early on.
The approach does not prevent EA from correcting problems that are clearly unintended. Bugs or behaviours that significantly affect matches can still be fixed, even when doing so has some effect on balance.
Bug fixes and quality-of-life work will continue

Holding back on broader tuning does not mean development has stopped elsewhere.
EA is continuing to work through technical problems and smaller improvements across FC 27. In Career Mode, the team is also monitoring Dynamic OVR and Stamina over a longer period before deciding whether further adjustments are needed.
Kickabout queue times are already being targeted
One of the areas receiving more immediate attention is Kickabout queue times in The Grounds. Kickabouts are short multiplayer activities that require enough players to enter the queue before a match can begin. EA has acknowledged feedback around those waits and is working on changes intended to reduce queue times.
The company has not detailed exactly how matchmaking will be adjusted or when those improvements will arrive.
EA says more detailed post-launch updates are planned, including dedicated Q&As covering Gameplay, Career, The Grounds & Clubs and Ultimate Team.
