Gears of War: E-Day Gives Every Player RAAM Free on November 7
The Coalition's 20th anniversary gift is RAAM as a free multiplayer character, and Season 2: Legacy starts December 1 with a new Dom skin.
The Coalition is giving every Gears of War: E-Day player RAAM as a free multiplayer character on November 7, 2026, exactly 20 years after the original Gears of War launched on Xbox 360. Players only need to log in to claim him.
The Coalition confirmed the gift in an Xbox Wire post on November 6, 2026. The studio had promised a November 7 birthday gift when it outlined E-Day's post-launch plans in October, without naming it.
RAAM is claimed by logging in on November 7
Nicole Fawcette, studio brand director at The Coalition, writes that “tomorrow is the exact date of our anniversary” and that RAAM goes to “every Gears of War: E-Day player as a free gift.” Players should “just login to claim him instantly.”
RAAM, the Locust general from the original 2006 game, joins the E-Day multiplayer roster at no cost. The post does not give an unlock time, say whether he stays claimable after November 7 or name the modes he can be used in.
The two-week anniversary event is already live
The gift lands during a two-week anniversary event that The Coalition started earlier this week, with limited-time modes and new rewards. In Versus, the limited-time Guardian mode is one where “only one leader makes it out alive,” according to the studio.
Horde Siege adds For the Queen, a mode that disables the supply cache and leaves each squad to rely on its loadouts. Xbox Wire does not give an end date for the event.
Season 2: Legacy starts December 1
The next season of Gears of War: E-Day, titled Legacy, begins on December 1, 2026. The Coalition says it “continues to honor the greatest hits of Gears over 20 years” in its maps, modes and multiplayer skins.
The first skin shown is Solemn Memories Dom, which puts Dominic Santiago in the suit from the well-known photo of him and Maria in Gears of War 2. Fawcette says the season lets the studio “reimagine characters in ways we’ve always wanted to see them.”
At the time of writing, The Coalition has not listed Season 2's maps, modes or full skin lineup, or said what else the season adds beyond the returning content.
