Xbox Makes 3 Games Free to Play Through August 23

Xbox has opened another Free Play Days weekend with three games available to subscribers at no extra cost. Train Sim World 6: Standard Edition, Icarus: Console Edition, and Lynked: Banner of the Spark can be played from August 20 through August 23.

Access requires Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, Premium, or Essential. Each game offers something different, ranging from railway simulation to survival and roguelite action.

Train Sim World 6: Standard Edition lets players operate passenger trains across three routes. The lineup includes the Riviera Line along the Dawlish Sea Wall, the extended Leipzig-Dresden route, and the Morristown Line between New York, Hoboken, and Dover, with trains such as the GWR Class 802, Class 150/2, and DB BR 411 ICE-T. The Xbox version also supports Smart Delivery and Xbox Play Anywhere.

Icarus: Console Edition shifts the weekend toward PvE survival. Players land on a hostile planet, build shelters, craft weapons, hunt, and deal with dangerous wildlife and extreme weather. It supports solo play and online co-op for up to four players on Xbox Series X|S.

Lynked: Banner of the Spark combines roguelite combat with life-sim progression. Fighting robots and bosses provides resources that can be taken back to improve the player's home base, giving the game a loop that moves between combat and rebuilding.

The Free Play Days access ends on August 23, but achievements and Gamerscore earned during the weekend can carry over for anyone who later purchases one of the games.

Discounts may also be available during Free Play Days, with pricing and availability varying by region. Players can check their local Xbox Store for the final price.
