Anno 117 Releases Dawn of the Delta Expansion With Free Weekend

November 5, 20263 min read

Ubisoft Mainz's Egypt expansion and Update 3.0 are out on all platforms, with the Anno 117 base game free to play until November 9.

Ubisoft Mainz has released Dawn of the Delta, the Egypt-set expansion for Anno 117: Pax Romana, together with Update 3.0. According to Ubisoft's patch notes, both went live at 10 a.m. UTC on November 5, 2026, on all platforms.

A free weekend for the base game starts later the same day. The Anno Union announcement says anyone can play Anno 117 for free until November 9, with full multiplayer and co-op, while the expansion itself stays paid. Dawn of the Delta costs $24.99 on Steam.

Dawn of the Delta moves the action to Aegyptus

The expansion adds the province of Aegyptus, where players settle along the arms of a river delta and use the floodplains to turn the region into the empire's breadbasket. Ubisoft's store description warns that river floods affect production “for better or for worse.”

Players choose whether to Romanize their cities or keep the province's old traditions, a decision that changes the deities they worship, their production chains and the make-up of their fleet and army. The expansion also brings a new local raider, a new rival named Decimus who is “set on keeping Roman order at all costs,” an investigation into the former governor's murder, and a contest between governors over who contributes most to restoring the Pyramids.

Update 3.0 adds stamps and raises the default difficulty

Update 3.0 applies to every player, whether or not they buy the expansion. Its headline feature is Stamp Mode, which saves residential or production layouts for reuse, and PC players can share stamp files with others. The statistics screen gains storage and specialist tabs, and quests can now be hidden from the quest log.

New saves now default to “normal” difficulty with higher goods consumption, and a “very hard” option raises consumption by 75%. Starting money has gone up to compensate, and end-game festivals now cost 25,000 coins instead of 50,000. On PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, the install size shrinks after this update, but Ubisoft warns that this patch is a larger download as a result.

Free weekend times differ on Xbox

Ubisoft's schedule graphic runs the free weekend on PC and PS5 from 4 p.m. GMT on November 5 to 12 p.m. GMT on November 9, which is 8 a.m. PT to 4 a.m. PT in the US. On Xbox Series X|S, it ends earlier, at 7 a.m. GMT on November 9. The PC storefronts listed are Ubisoft Connect and the Epic Games Store, along with GeForce Now. Steam is not among them.

A sale is running alongside the free weekend on all platforms. At the time of writing, Steam lists the base game at $35.99, down 40% from $59.99.
