New official Invincible release confirmed for July 30
June 18, 2026·3 min read
Invincible fans have a new official release coming this summer, but it is not another episode or a new video game. The next release is Invincible: Superhero Roleplaying - Starter Set, a tabletop RPG box made for groups that want to create their own superhero stories.
The Starter Set launches at retail on July 30. It comes from Free League Publishing and Skybound, with rules built around the Year Zero Engine and the violent superhero world created by Robert Kirkman, Cory Walker, and Ryan Ottley.
The Starter Set gives fans a simple way to play
This box is made for players who want an easy first session. It includes abridged rules, six pre-made characters, custom dice, cards, tokens, standees, a double-sided action map, and a three-act starter adventure called Metro Mayhem.
A superhero RPG needs to explain powers, fights, teamwork, and character drama without making the first game night feel like homework. A ready-to-play box can help new players get to the table faster.
The pre-made characters include Invincible, Atom Eve, Rex Splode, and Monster Girl. Fans can start with familiar heroes before making their own characters or building new stories in another part of the universe.

Free League is using familiar RPG tools
Invincible: Superhero Roleplaying uses Free League’s Year Zero Engine, which has powered several of the publisher’s tabletop games. This version uses six-sided dice and is built for superhero action that can turn dangerous very quickly.
That works better for Invincible than making the character seem unbeatable. The comic and Prime Video series are full of big fights. However, people get hurt, families fall apart, and young heroes quickly learn that having powers does not make life easier.
A great version of this tabletop game should understand what makes that mix work. Players should be able to enjoy heroic action, but the game should also include difficult decisions, personal challenges, and the everyday struggles of its characters.
This is not a new show release
The July 30 release date may surprise some fans because Invincible is now closely tied to the Prime Video series. This release is for the tabletop RPG Starter Set, not a new season, special episode, or animated movie.
It is still a useful addition for the franchise. Invincible has grown far beyond its comic roots, and a tabletop game gives fans a way to make new stories instead of only waiting for the show to continue.
That also makes the Starter Set a smart format. The full RPG line may appeal more to experienced tabletop players, while this box is aimed at people who want the easiest way to try it with friends.
The price makes it easier to try
The Starter Set is priced at $29.99, making it an affordable way to try the game before buying the full rulebook. For fans who are curious but not sure they want to commit to a larger RPG line, that price helps.
Free League and Skybound can easily reach two audiences through the box. Tabletop players get a licensed superhero RPG from an experienced publisher, while Invincible fans get a guided first step into roleplaying games.
The real test will be whether it captures the feel of Invincible. If the rules make fights feel challenging while allowing room for character-driven stories, the game could appeal to many Invincible fans. The July 30 release may give players a new way to create their own stories in the Invincible universe.
