TOEM 2 now has a confirmed release date, and fans of the original photo adventure only have a few more weeks to wait. Something We Made has that the sequel launches on September 29 for PC, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, and Nintendo Switch 2 after slightly beyond its earlier summer window.
The sequel keeps the relaxed photography loop that made TOEM stand out, but players will have more freedom this time. The returning photographer can run, jump, climb, use new camera attachments, and travel with friends who can influence the story. A free Steam demo is already available for anyone curious about the changes.

TOEM 2 takes place a few years after the first game. It follows the same photographer on a bigger journey filled with mysterious events called TOEMs. Taking pictures still helps solve problems, find secrets, and fill the journal. The camera can now do more than just capture what players see.
New attachments change how players interact with each region, giving photography a bigger role in puzzles. The demo takes players to Deltburg, a European-style city with an aquarium. Players can also use a screwdriver to help the people they meet there.
Completing quests, documenting discoveries, and expanding the critter collection opens the next region. There are no time limits forcing players to move on. The sequel still lets them stop for a strange character, an unusual animal, or a photo that is not part of the main objective.

The biggest change outside the camera is how freely the photographer can move. Jumping and climbing create paths that were impossible in the original, which kept exploration mostly on the ground. Higher viewpoints and hidden ledges should make searching for photographs feel less repetitive in the new areas.
Friends can also join the journey and influence how the story unfolds. Something We Made has not explained every choice or ending yet. However, side characters seem to have a bigger role than just giving players tasks. That could make the trip feel more personal without losing the quiet pace of the first game.
The hand-drawn black-and-white style remains, while the environments now offer more vertical space. That suits a game built around observation. Photography becomes more interesting when players need to move around and look behind objects. Small details can also be easy to miss when players only follow the main path.
Something We Made originally planned to release the game during summer 2026, but the team pushed it back slightly for extra detail and polish. September 29 is now locked in across PC, PS5, Switch, and Switch 2. The sequel remains a single-player adventure despite the greater focus on travelling with characters.
The free Steam demo covers part of Deltburg and has earned a Very Positive user response so far. It gives players a good look at the new movement, tools, photography puzzles, and relaxed gameplay before the full game arrives.
Its sequel looks ready to keep that approach while giving players more ways to explore each scene. September 29 will show whether those additions make the journey richer without losing the calm charm that made the original so easy to enjoy.
