Diablo 4 reportedly coming to Switch 2 in September

A new leak places Diablo 4 on Nintendo Switch 2 in September and reveals its expected price and unusual physical release. Blizzard and Nintendo have not announced the port, so its launch details remain unconfirmed.

The action RPG is listed for either September 15 or September 18, 2026. It is expected to cost $69.99 in the United States, €69.99 in Europe, and £62.99 in the United Kingdom.

Two September dates are being considered

Dealabs reporter billbil-kun identified two possible launch dates for the Switch 2 version. The source could not confirm which date is final, but maintained that the release is scheduled for that week.

Neither date has been listed by Nintendo, Blizzard, or major retailers. Until an announcement arrives, players should treat both the port and its September launch as leaked information rather than confirmed plans.

Physical edition may use a download code

A boxed edition is also reportedly planned, but it will not include a cartridge or a Game-Key Card. Buyers would instead receive a download code that must be redeemed through the Nintendo eShop.

That format gives the game a retail box without providing reusable physical software. Once redeemed, the code becomes tied to the buyer’s digital library, preventing the copy from being resold, traded, or lent like a cartridge or Game-Key Card.

Expansion content remains uncertain

It remains unclear whether the $69.99 release includes Diablo 4’s expansions. Vessel of Hatred and Lord of Hatred are already available on other platforms, but their inclusion in the Switch 2 package has not been established.

Previous classification leaks specifically named Diablo 4: Lord of Hatred for Switch 2. The game was also rated for Switch 2 in Indonesia and Taiwan, giving the reported port more support.

Blizzard previously discussed a Switch 2 port

Former Diablo general manager Rod Fergusson said in 2025 that Switch 2 had enough power to run Diablo 4. He described the platform’s handling of live-service games as the larger challenge, since Diablo 4 relies on online systems, seasonal updates, and continuing server support.

The series already has a history on Nintendo hardware through Diablo 3 and Diablo 2: Resurrected. Diablo 4 launched on PC, PlayStation, and Xbox in June 2023, leaving Switch 2 as its only reported new platform.

Blizzard has not confirmed the leaked dates, price, physical format, expansion content, performance targets, or cross-platform features. Diablo 4 remains unavailable on Switch 2 until the publisher formally announces the port.
