Epic Games has confirmed that Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 4 is called Override. The new season begins on August 20, 2026, after the current Runners Battle Pass ends.
The first teaser uses distorted computer graphics and game-like interface elements. Its design matches recent leaks that point to a season built around characters and franchises from other video games.
The official Fortnite account revealed the Override name in a teaser posted on August 5. The image confirms the launch date but does not show any Battle Pass outfits, weapons, map changes, or gameplay features.
Players have until August 20 to complete the Chapter 7 Season 3 Battle Pass before the new season begins.
Fortnite leakers have described Chapter 7 Season 4 as a Gaming Legends season. Those reports claim that video game crossovers will form the main theme rather than appearing as smaller Item Shop additions.
The Override branding does not directly use the Gaming Legends name. However, its digital glitches, computer language, and arcade-inspired design fit the leaked concept.
Sonic the Hedgehog,
Persona 5, Kingdom Hearts, Mega Man, and Crash Bandicoot have all been linked to the season through separate leaks. Some reports also place Sonic in the Battle Pass, though it is unclear how the character would work as a Fortnite outfit.
Epic Games has not announced any of these collaborations. The teaser also gives no indication of which franchises could receive skins, Sidekicks, weapons, locations, or other content.
Gaming Legends Series is Fortnite’s existing label for cosmetics taken from other video games. It includes characters from Halo, God of War, Resident Evil, Street Fighter, Tomb Raider, The Witcher, Doom, and Metal Gear Solid.
Most of these crossovers arrived through the Item Shop or individual Battle Pass slots. A full Gaming Legends season could spread gaming crossovers across the Battle Pass, map, and later updates.
