Gundam 40th Anniversary Gaming Broadcast Announced for Late October
Bandai Namco is marking four decades of Gundam games with a dedicated livestream after launching its anniversary site and fan campaign. No specific games have been confirmed for the broadcast.
Bandai Namco has announced a dedicated Gundam Games 40th Anniversary livestream for late October 2026, marking 40 years since Mobile Suit Z Gundam: Hot Scramble launched for the Famicom in Japan.
Bandai Namco has not yet revealed the exact broadcast date, start time, program, participating titles, or performers. The anniversary livestream was announced during the September 23 SD Gundam G Generation Eternal 1.5th Anniversary roadmap presentation.

Bandai Namco has only confirmed that the livestream will celebrate the 40th anniversary of Gundam video games. The company has not announced the program, participating games, guests, or whether the broadcast will include any new game announcements.
Gundam's video game history began in 1986
Bandai Namco dates the beginning of Gundam's video game history to August 1986, when Mobile Suit Z Gundam: Hot Scramble was released for Nintendo's Famicom in Japan.
The official 40th anniversary site traces Gundam games across the past four decades, with Bandai Namco describing the anniversary as an opportunity to look back on the series' gaming history.
The wider celebration began in August with the launch of the Gundam Games 40th Anniversary website. Bandai Namco also ran the "My Gundam Game Resume" campaign, which allowed fans to choose up to three Gundam games that were particularly memorable to them.
Gundam Rogue Orbit launches in March 2027
The 40th anniversary period also overlaps with Bandai Namco's rollout of GUNDAM ROGUE ORBIT, a new action game from Bandai Namco Studios. The game received its first public playable demo at Tokyo Game Show 2026, where players could try its high-mobility combat and choose from three mobile suit presets. Bandai Namco has since confirmed that GUNDAM ROGUE ORBIT will launch on March 5, 2027, for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC through Steam.
The March 2027 release places GUNDAM ROGUE ORBIT shortly after Gundam's 40th anniversary year. However, Bandai Namco has not announced the game or any other specific title for the October anniversary livestream.
