Karmine Corp Sweep MVK 3-0 to Qualify for Worlds 2026 Swiss Stage

Karmine Corp have secured the final place in the League of Legends World Championship 2026 Swiss Stage after defeating MVK Esports 3-0 in the Play-In final on October 18. The victory sends the French organization into the 16-team main event in its first appearance at Worlds.

The LEC's third seed completed the Play-In Stage without losing a series, defeating Cloud9 before sweeping MVK twice. Karmine Corp will now join G2 Esports and Movistar KOI as Europe's three representatives in the Swiss Stage, which begins on October 23 in Allen, Texas.

Karmine Corp entered the final with a clear advantage after defeating MVK 3-0 in their upper-bracket meeting on October 16. The rematch followed a similar pattern, with KC controlling the opening two games through stronger laning and coordinated team play.

Midlaner Kang "kyeahoo" Ye-hoo played an important role in establishing those advantages. His performance against MVK's Võ "Chika" Lê Nhân helped Karmine Corp maintain pressure across the map and secure objectives.

MVK attempted a different approach in Game 3, using more aggressive movements to disrupt KC's early-game control. The Vietnamese team created several opportunities, making the final game more competitive than the previous two.

However, support player Alan "Busio" Cwalina repeatedly disrupted MVK's attempts to find openings with Leona. Karmine Corp eventually regained control and closed out the game to complete another 3-0 sweep. The result ended MVK's Worlds campaign and secured the only Swiss Stage qualification spot available through the four-team Play-In bracket.

Karmine Corp's route to qualification began with a difficult opening series against North America's Cloud9 on October 15. Cloud9 took a 2-1 lead in the best-of-five, putting KC one defeat away from dropping into the lower bracket. The European side responded by winning the next two games, completing a 3-2 comeback to advance.

That victory sent Karmine Corp into the upper-bracket final against MVK, where they secured their first 3-0 sweep. MVK had started the tournament with a 3-0 win over Brazil's FURIA. After losing to Karmine Corp, they returned to the lower bracket and defeated FURIA again, this time 3-1, to earn another opportunity against KC.

Despite winning both series against the Brazilian representatives, MVK could not overcome Karmine Corp in either meeting. Karmine Corp finished the Play-In Stage with three series victories and a combined 9-2 game record, recovering from their difficult opener to win six consecutive games against MVK.

Karmine Corp's qualification completes the 16-team field for the Worlds 2026 Swiss Stage. The team enters as a Pool 4 seed and will face China's top seed, Anyone's Legend, in its opening match on October 23.

The Swiss Stage takes place at the Credit Union of Texas Event Center in Allen, with eight teams advancing to the Knockout Stage. Teams must secure three match victories to qualify for the next phase, while three defeats result in elimination. Karmine Corp's opening encounter against Anyone's Legend will be a best-of-one.

The matchup presents an immediate challenge for KC after their successful Play-In campaign, with Anyone's Legend entering the tournament as the LPL's first seed. Europe's other representatives also have difficult opening assignments. G2 Esports will face Dplus KIA, while Movistar KOI take on Bilibili Gaming.

Karmine Corp will begin their Swiss Stage campaign on October 23, looking to build on their unbeaten Play-In run against stronger international opposition.
