Xbox is going big at Gamescom this year. Two full broadcasts, a packed show floor in Cologne and enough confirmed games to stretch well beyond the usual handful of headline trailers. For anyone following Xbox, there is a lot to look forward to across August 26 and 27.
The nice part is that we already know where most of it lands. Xbox has published the lineups for both broadcast days, alongside a separate list of games heading to the booth in Hall 7. That makes it much easier to pick out the moments worth watching live and the games that will only be playable for people actually walking the Gamescom floor.
To ensure you do not miss a single gameplay reveal, Xbox published the exact schedule across all primary channels. European audiences get prime afternoon viewing slots for both days, making it easier than ever to catch the action live.
Xbox has built more around these broadcasts than a string of trailers. Developer interviews and special guests sit alongside gameplay reveals and new footage, giving some of the games enough time to actually show what they are doing.

Wednesday feels like the more recognizable broadcast. Xbox puts big releases up front, but the rest of the schedule wanders all over the place. There is a new Tomb Raider, Persona is back, Crazy Taxi somehow returned, and Mega Man joined the mix. Here is the complete list of games scheduled to appear during the Wednesday stream:
Gears of War: E-Day returns only a couple of months after its big June showing. We already know what the campaign looks like, so another cinematic trailer would be the least interesting option here. Anything new from Marcus and Dom's first encounter with the Locust is likely to get plenty of attention on Wednesday.
Fable remains slightly more mysterious for anyone watching from home. Playground runs a live theater demo in Cologne built around melee, ranged combat and magic, although Xbox has not confirmed how much of that presentation makes it into the actual broadcast.
Crazy Taxi World Tour is the most wonderfully strange name on the Wednesday schedule. Seeing Crazy Taxi sit between modern Xbox blockbusters and Persona 4 in 2026 feels like digging an old Dreamcast out of the attic and finding a brand new game inside.

The second day expands the scope significantly, featuring twenty distinct titles ranging from premier first person shooters to niche simulation experiences. Here is every game confirmed for the Thursday broadcast
Thursday is a bit of an unpredictable mix. Call of Duty Modern Warfare 4 drops just twenty four hours before its August 28 open beta so the multiplayer updates will be fresh when you finally queue up.
Sitting right next to that heavy hitter is pure nostalgia like Stuntman Hollywood. Spotting an old IP like that casually sitting on a next gen lineup is a genuine trip.
That same wild variety leaves plenty of room for smaller projects like Cassette Beasts 2002. In a twenty game marathon these indies have exactly the space they need to steal the show making Thursday feel like a brilliant chaotic grab bag.

If you happen to be in Cologne, either by accident or very much on purpose, Xbox has taken over a sizable chunk of Hall 7. The booth holds 140 gaming stations across 25 games, so there is plenty to get your hands on beyond whatever appears during the two livestreams.
Among the confirmed playable games are:
Gears of War E Day will probably pull one of the bigger crowds. We have already seen plenty of the campaign on Xbox's terms, but Gamescom is the first time regular players get to sit down with it themselves.
Minecraft Dungeons II has a similar advantage, making its playable debut at the show. For anyone who spent time with the first game, this is the first real chance to see how much further Mojang and Double Eleven have pushed the sequel beyond its simpler action RPG roots.
Stranger Than Heaven is the wildcard here. Its unusual control scheme splits left and right side actions across the controller, which is exactly the kind of idea that makes far more sense once somebody has actually tried it.
Looking across the Gamescom 2026 schedule, Xbox crafted two distinctly different broadcast days. Wednesday provides an essential look at core first party pillars and major story driven blockbusters. Thursday shifts toward sheer variety, delivering competitive shooter updates, deep simulation mechanics, and a sweeping lineup of third party partners and indies.
Depending on whether you prefer narrative action or deep systemic gameplay, both days offer plenty of reasons to tune in live. Which broadcast day are you most looking forward to watching? Let us know below.
