Dune: Awakening Launches on PS5 and Xbox With Full Single-Player Mode
Arrakis can now be explored without other human players, while the console versions arrive with 15 months of PC updates. Funcom has also released the Filmic Archive DLC.
Dune: Awakening is now available on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, with the console release featuring a full single-player mode and the conclusion of the game's Book One story.
Funcom's latest major update is also available on PC, allowing players across all platforms to experience Arrakis without other human players for the first time. The update adds expanded difficulty and survival settings, while console players launch into a version containing the major content and improvements introduced since the PC release in June 2025.
Single-player keeps the full world of Arrakis

Players can now choose between single-player and multiplayer when starting Dune: Awakening.
Solo mode retains the game's NPCs, progression, exploration, and Deep Desert content while removing other human players. The Deep Desert also works differently without a persistent multiplayer population, with its map no longer resetting and player buildings remaining in place. Coriolis Storms still appear as weather events but are less destructive.
The Landsraad endgame remains available as well. Instead of relying on real players from competing factions, the game simulates their activity so the wider political conflict continues to function during a solo playthrough.
Single-player also includes expanded difficulty and customization settings. Players can adjust experience and resource gains, item durability, death penalties, base limits, sandstorms, enemy difficulty, and other survival systems. Three preset difficulty levels are available for players who do not want to configure each option individually.
The same update completes Book One of the main story. Dune: Awakening originally launched with Acts 1 and 2 before later updates expanded the campaign, with the final act now allowing the first major story arc to be played from beginning to end.
Console players get more than the original PC launch build

The PS5 and Xbox Series X|S versions include the additions Funcom has made during the 15 months since Dune: Awakening first arrived on PC.
One of the biggest changes is fully optional PvP. The Deep Desert now has separate PvE and PvP instances, allowing players to continue through the game's major systems without being forced into fights against other players. The endgame has also been reworked, while new locations, missions, weapons, gear, and progression changes have been introduced through previous updates.
Xbox players can access the game through Game Pass. The Xbox version also supports Xbox Play Anywhere, with shared progression and cross-play between Xbox consoles and the Microsoft Store PC version. Full cross-play between PC, PlayStation, and Xbox is not available at launch. Funcom says broader cross-play is coming later, although it has not announced a release date.
Filmic Archive DLC brings movie designs to all platforms
Funcom has also released the Filmic Archive DLC for $9.99 on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S.
The cosmetic pack is based on Denis Villeneuve's Dune: Part One and Dune: Part Two. It includes the Caladan Stormcoat worn by Duke Leto and Paul Atreides, the Aegis of an Unwalked Path armor inspired by Paul's visions, additional Atreides, Harkonnen, and Sardaukar equipment, weapons, emotes, and decorations.
Base builders also receive 73 Sardaukar building pieces and 17 matching decorations for creating structures based on the Imperial military force's visual style.
The next major free addition is the Polar Cap, a new survival map planned for later in 2026 with an icy biome, cold-based survival mechanics, additional resources and crafting options, and its own standalone storyline.
