Steam Makes Payday 3 and Age of Wonders 4 Free to Play Until November 9
Payday 3 and Age of Wonders 4 are free to play on Steam until November 9, with a Double Infamy event for Payday 3 and discounts of up to 70% afterwards.
Steam users can play Payday 3 and Age of Wonders 4 for free until November 9, 2026. Both games became available on November 5, giving PC players a limited opportunity to try two very different experiences without purchasing them.
The promotions end on Monday at 10 a.m. PT (1 p.m. ET). However, these are temporary free-play weekends, not permanent giveaways. Players who want to continue after the deadline will need to buy the games.
Payday 3 Offers Free Heists and Double Infamy Rewards
Starbreeze Entertainment's Payday 3 is a cooperative first-person shooter where up to four players plan and execute robberies. Teams can approach missions quietly using stealth or fight their way through police forces when their plans fall apart.
The free weekend gives newcomers access to the game's updated experience, including Campaign Mode, the returning CRIME.NET server browser, and redesigned skill and armor systems. All previously paid DLC heists are also available, having been made permanently free for all players in September.
Starbreeze is running a Double Infamy event alongside the promotion, allowing players to earn progression rewards faster. Any progress made during the free weekend will be retained if players purchase the game later.
Age of Wonders 4 Celebrates Its New Expansion With Free Access
Age of Wonders 4 offers a different kind of challenge. Developed by Triumph Studios, the turn-based fantasy strategy game lets players create civilizations, build empires, and command armies across procedurally generated realms.
Players can customize their rulers and factions while exploring territories, researching magic, and fighting tactical battles. Both single-player and multiplayer modes are available.
The promotion follows the November 3 release of The Silver Seas, a paid expansion introducing maritime exploration, the new Mercantile culture, and additional aquatic creatures.
A free update called Manta also launched alongside the expansion. It improves naval gameplay, introduces a new trade system, and includes balance adjustments and bug fixes. The new expansion is sold separately from the base game.
Steam Discounts Continue After the Free Weekend Ends
Both games are discounted for players who want to continue after November 9.
Payday 3 is available at a 70% discount, with its Steam sale ending November 12. Age of Wonders 4 has a 60% discount on its base game, Starter Edition, and Premium Edition until November 18.
