Steam Users Can Claim 2024 FPS Deadshot Free Until September 23

Steam users can currently claim the 2024 retro FPS Deadshot for free, with the limited-time offer available until September 23.

Developed and published by v0lt, Deadshot normally costs $4.99. This is a free-to-keep promotion rather than a temporary trial, so anyone who adds the game to their Steam account before the offer expires can keep it after the price returns.

Deadshot launched on September 18, 2024 as a single-player FPS inspired by games including Half-Life, Doom, and Quake. Players take control of a soldier who wakes during a mutant apocalypse and sets out to discover what happened while fighting through tunnels, laboratories, buildings, and storage areas.

The campaign contains three chapters with six levels each, giving the game 18 stages in total. Players have access to seven weapons and five weapon attachments, with secrets and progression items hidden throughout its environments.

Deadshot's Steam page also includes a generative AI disclosure. v0lt says AI image generation was used to create starting points for some environmental textures, which were then heavily modified by hand before being used in the game.

Steam lists Deadshot as a single-player Windows game with 36 achievements, Steam Cloud, and Family Sharing support. Its minimum system requirements call for 4 GB of storage.
